"Occupying the second ring in a tight portfolio of three wines is the 2022 Montevertine. This is 90% Sangiovese with smaller parts Canaiolo and Colorino that starts off in cement and matures in botte grande. Winemaking is straightforward, traditional and hands-off. However, the intensity is taken up quite a notch compared to the Pian del Ciampolo. This wine shows extra ripeness and more of those Tuscan, sunshine-driven flavors of dark fruit and plum. It also has more volume and layering that is typical of this succulent vintage. It's really lovely. Montevertine reveals complexity and great freshness too, which keeps it in check. This is a release of 30,000 bottles."
