"The Castello di Ama 2022 Chianti Classico Riserva Montebuoni occupies a space in the estate's hierarchy between the entry-level Chianti Classico and the top-tier Gran Selezione wines. With the first vintage made in 2018, the blend is 95% Sangiovese with a tiny element of Merlot. Fruit is drawn from the Montebuoni vineyard that was purchased in 1997 and replanted immediately afterward. This plot is located about one kilometer from Bellavista. The aim of this wine is to show depth and elegance while remaining accessible and cheerful all the while. It shows some ripeness with blackberry and bold fruit flavors followed by terrific intensity and a slightly tart finish."
